In general, the Alden Biesen outdoor area is freely accessible between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. The museum, information office, and gardens have different opening hours.

During events, certain areas may be closed.
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area as long as they are kept on a leash.
They are not allowed in the buildings and the French garden.
Exceptions may apply during events.
Assistance dogs are of course welcome everywhere.
We ask you to keep the area tidy: pick up dog poop and throw the bag in a trash can.

Absolutely! Alden Biesen is located between cycling junctions 85 and 68. Bicycle parking is available. It's also the ideal starting point for a pleasant bike ride.

Bilzen station is 5 km away. There's no regular bus route, but you can book a customized ride through De Lijn Flex.

There is ample visitor parking opposite the Waterburcht. Charging stations for electric cars are also available. Parking is generally free. Different conditions may apply during events.

Yes, there are some public charging stations available in the visitor car park.
You are permitted to park your campervan for one night free of charge in the visitor parking lot. There are no water, electricity, or sanitary facilities. For longer stays, you will need to go to the center of Bilzen. There is a motorhome parking area located on Lanakerdij.

Activities & events
Individual visitors are permitted to take photographs or film outdoors for private use, provided they use only handheld cameras and do not use a tripod, lighting, or models.
Bridal and communion photos are permitted outdoors, under the same conditions as above. Indoor photography is not permitted.
For professional and commercial shoots (e.g., fashion, corporate, TV, film, promotional, etc.), an application and approval are required. Shoots are only possible after formal booking and payment. The concept must be submitted in advance and aligned with Alden Biesen's values. Visit the Film Shoots page for more information and contact details.

Absolutely! There are already lovely picnic benches at the prairie garden (part of the English Park) and the boardwalk. You're also welcome to bring your own picnic elsewhere on the grounds. Please ensure it doesn't disturb other visitors and always take your rubbish home with you.
