On Sunday, 28 December 2025, the Bach Academy Alden Biesen will present its annual Christmas concert in the church of the Land Commandery.
Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio, composed in 1734, is a festive and moving musical work about the birth of Jesus. It consists of six cantatas that together tell the Christmas story, from the Annunciation to the arrival of the shepherds and the wise men.
With jubilant choruses, moving arias and rich orchestral sounds, Bach manages to connect faith, joy and humanity.
The church's unique acoustics and the historic Van Peteghem organ create an intense experience. An evening full of music, heritage, and emotion.
Choir, orchestra and soloists of the Bach Academy Alden Biesen conducted by Bart NAESSENS.
Soloists: Amaryllis Dieltiens, soprano. Colinne Du Tilleul, mezzo-soprano. Adriaan De Koster, tenor. Tiemo Wang, baritone.
An organisation of the non-profit organisation Organum Alden Biesen in collaboration with the Lions Club Midden Limburg.
