Enter a unique exhibition that brings the work of artist Roger Raveel into dialogue with the centuries-old Land Commandery Alden Biesen.
The exhibition shows how Raveel's art, rooted in the everyday life of Machelen-aan-de-Leie, surprisingly resonates with the heritage of Alden Biesen. His paintings and graphic work are presented in a scenography that invites visitors to look, compare, and admire. Because Raveel teaches us that the ordinary is never ordinary.
The exhibition creates visual and substantive links between Raveel's iconic style and the historical context of the castle grounds. Think of gardens, agriculture, and village life – themes that have also left their mark on Alden Biesen. The dialogue between art and heritage is tangible in every room.
Curator Vanessa Vaes:
“We not only want to highlight Roger Raveel's work, but also show how his art bridges the gap between everyday life and the exceptional heritage of Alden Biesen.”
Be amazed by floating bowler hats, colorful poles, and playful compositions. Encounters between art and history, between Raveel and Alden Biesen, make this exhibition a timeless experience. Guided tours are also available!
