FAQ

Are dogs allowed on the estate?

Dogs are allowed outside as long as they are kept on a leash, except in the French Garden, the church and the castle itself. Naturally, guide and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the premises as long as the house rules for cleanliness are observed. Please note these rules can be subject to change in case of events organised by outside organisations. In case of questions please contact the organiser of the event(s).

Photo reportages

Photographs for private use are allowed on the Alden Biesen estate. This means that photographs for non-commercial purposes can be taken at communions, spring celebrations and weddings without prior approval.
This is free on the estate as such but in the French garden there is a fee of € 1 per person. During exhibitions an entrance fee is charged for access to the castle and the French garden. Access is free for children up to 12 years old.
For some events there is an entrance fee and/or some parts of the estate may be closed to the public. Check the website to make sure no event is currently taking place at the estate.
For commercial photo shoots please contact congrescentrumaldenbiesen@cjsm.vlaanderen.be or call +32 89 51 93 47 - +32 89 51 93 4 for prior approval.

Disabled access

Some parts of the estate are not accessible to wheelchair users such as the English Park, the attic of the moated castle and several conference rooms surrounding the inner courtyard. We hope we can count on your understanding in this regard. However, we are working on an accessibility plan for the future that guarantees full access for everyone.
